Rookies Montessori Center is committed to implementing Montessori methodology which emphasize that ages 0 – 6 years are the most important in human development and should not be taken for granted. The right Montessori environment both at school and home has to be prepared to achieve the Montessori objective for a solid foundation to develop children that are cognitively developed, independent, organised, orderly, confident and intelligent to handle life’s complex challenges.

Dr Maria Montessori believed that children are born empty in terms of development, like sponge, they absorb what is in their environment to develop. Based on this, Dr Maria Montessori emphasise preparing a the right environment for children to absorb and lay a solid foundation.

A methodology where every skill of the child is developed by carefully planned routine that create a safe environment in which children can developed to their full potential through reasoning, problem solving, educational games, reading, homework, manners, etiquette, communication, constructive play and general everyday activities.

 

The Montessori ideology led to Rookies Montessori Center developing courses and training programmes for nannies and governess who can ensure the right Montessori stimulating environment is prepared at home/school to develop an Independent, organised, intelligent and well grounded child.

Montessori Governess

A Governess is a diploma or degree holder capable of handling children’s educational needs in a home setting and monitoring their school and social life progress. They are trained to stand in for the parents when not available.

  • The Montessori Governess will develop routine for the children that includes home work and educational activities.
  • The Montessori Governess teaches children manners, etiquette and right code of conduct
  • The Montessori Governess will organize the child’s daily schedule for smooth running.
  • The Montessori Governess will follow up with the child’s progress in school/or educate the child at home (if required).
  • The Montessori Governess will communicate child’s progress and activities with parents with recommendation of tutoring if required.
  • The Montessori Governess will prepare children for exams and school assessments
  • The Montessori Governess will encourage children to behave appropriately and complete their studies.
  • The Montessori Governess ensure the children’s environment is prepared for educational and social stimulation.
  • The Montessori Governess will organize the children’s belongings, which includes tidying up/cleaning toys after playing and of course ensuring that the children’s bedrooms, cloths and bathroom are clean and tidy.
  • The Montessori Governess must have a comfortable sleeping arrangement.
  • The Governess is not Household Nannies, they are HOME CHILDREN MANAGERS FOR extremely busy parents that need a home professional to fill in. They are not expected to do heavy housework like eneral family cooking or cleaning as this takes away from the development and management of the children. However, Parents and Governess can agree on functions before position is accepted.

  • Love Children
  • Higher Institutions Diploma And Above
  • Speak, Write, Read English.
  • 20 Years And Over 

Functions Of Montessori Nanny

  • The Montessori Nanny Must speak, read and write English or the lingual franca in the country.
  • The Montessori Nanny is responsible for everything relating to the children, such as dressing, bathing, school runs and meals for the children.
  • The Montessori Nanny will organize their ‘play-dates’; outings to the zoo/park and other age applicable social activities supervising & assisting with homework.
  • The Montessori Nanny will be expected to prepare a stimulating environment that will develop Montessori children to their full potential cognitively, independent, organised, orderly, confident and intelligent through Practical life home activities, educational games, painting, reading and other forms of educational play.
  • The Montessori Nanny will organize the children’s belongings, which includes tidying up/cleaning toys after playing and of course ensuring that the children’s bedrooms, cloths and bathroom are clean and tidy.
  • The Montessori Nanny will ensure the children’s environment is prepared for educational and social stimulation.
  • The Montessori Nanny teaches children manners, etiquette and right code of conduct
  • The Montessori Nanny is not expected to do heavy housework, general family cooking as this takes away from the development of the children and them being the main focus. However, Parents and Nanny can agree on functions before position is accepted.
  • Montessori Nanny must have a comfortable sleeping arrangement.
